Healthy Cents Fund

NEK Prosper created the Healthy Cents Fund to promote upstream investments to improve health.  This prevention and wellness fund will provide money for innovative projects that have positive social, economic, or environmental impact.  The projects must contribute to healthy and thriving communities by addressing social determinants and prevention opportunities; accelerate the work of NEK Prosper, and move us closer to our 5 outcome areas.

The Healthy Cents Fund applications are ready!

The application period opens on January 9 and applications are accepted until 5 p.m. on March 13, 2020.  All the documents you need to apply are available on this site.  We are using a request for proposal (RFP) application format.  The Healthy Cents Fund provides multi-year (up to 3 years) funding for organizations serving people in the NVRH service area as defined by the state of Vermont: Caledonia and southern Essex counties.

For any questions or to receive the application documents in their original WORD, EXCEL, or PowerPoint format, email Laural Ruggles at l.ruggles@nvrh.org.

Where does the money come from?

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital receives a capitated payment from OneCareVT, the statewide Accountable Care Organization (ACO), for delivering healthcare to Medicaid beneficiares.  NVRH has committed to investing 1% of those payments in the Healthy Cents Fund.
